Industry Classification Review
Across Canada, in each province, the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) classifies companies into various industry rate groups based on company activities.
Being classified into the correct industry and rate group ensures your company pays the lowest possible WCB premiums.
An industry review entails reviewing the industry group you have been classified in and comparing it to your company’s activities. It may be that your company’s activities have changed since you were initially classified or, it may be that WCB doesn’t accurately understand your company’s operations and you have been classified incorrectly.
Additionally, some provinces allow for companies to have multiple industry classifications if their operations span multiple areas. The difference in premium rates when a company has not been properly classified can be substantial.
Artis will review potential WCB industry groups that better describe your services and apply for industry reclassification.
